So as many of you know, well im sure all of you know… Fish was hurt pretty bad about a year or so ago in an accident in spain. Here is an edit of him skating recently which gets me really juiced that he’s still blading and blading well. Shows how keeping your head up and always being positive can give you nothing but beneficial outcomes
My salutes to Fish for holding NY down.. and good job matty

I just want to let everyone know I’m really excited about finally starting this blog, I’ve been trying to get this up for the past few months but with priorities as work I had not found the time. So here it goes, my first post! This blog will be so you can get filled in on the progress of CONNECTED, the funny part is that the first post is actually related to a different video. If you enjoy this post and this section after you get a chance to watch it I’m sure you will enjoy my own project that I have been working on the past 2 year, damn time flies…So it all Started a few months back when I received an email from the ONE mag guys to see if I was willing to donate footage to their video. Let me just start by saying, I dislike giving any footage away unless its to a select few who have earned the reason for me to want to help them. I have paid for everything on my own so it always just seemed a bit silly to want to give away clips. Than one day Connor Obrien came along and changed my mind completely, he had a vision of what the final film would be and how they would go about doing it. Than something inside of my mind sparked, I wanted to be apart of this, apart of something better than myself and something bigger than most any one person could do. I wanted to show everyone that if people care about all aspects of a film than it can become something great. Ever since than I’ve been on board 100 percent. I started filming for the northern California spot check about 4 months ago and ran with my idea of how I wanted to portray it. Everyone in nor-cal are really good friends, we go out to skate, we have a great time, go bowling, go to bars and just hang out even when we are not skating. I wanted to show people that rollerblading isn’t just about huge hammers and stunts, its about the lifestyle that you create around it and the friends that come along the way. In nor-cal I feel we’ve laid a pretty solid foundation on the scene. Not to say I was anywhere near the first because OG’s like Erick Garcia Nick Riggle and Jon Julio rooted the birth of the scene but overtime I feel the current generation has helped push this scene to be one of the best out there. I couldn’t think of anywhere else I would rather be. But than again I may be a bit bias since I have been here for 20 out of the 23 years of my life. I love Northern California and everything about it so I did everything I could and put all I had to make sure that when you watch this section, you feel what I feel. I spent about 4 months compiling all the footage, too many hours editing, many gas tanks burned through, parking tickets and vandalism charges reaching at about $500 in the period, and countless daydreams envisioning what I wanted it to become. I bring you my vision and my dream of what a rollerblading scene should be. I present to you, Northern California. (Who knows, you might even want to come visit after)

The ONE video Cover (i was there:) and it was nuts!)
Food for thought…
Wednesday, March 4th, 2009A message from its creater
As I sit here on this plane flying back from the country of panama to my home in California running on 4 hour maximum sleep per night for the past 10 days with way too much time on my hands to think about life and its events. I think about everything I’ve done in the past, planned for the future, and things that always sneak in between. I realize that it all comes down to one thing. Rollerblading. Rollerblading has set the foundation in my life for me to branch out into the person I became. I have been to many places, traveled here and been there and everything is owed all to rollerblading. Sometimes I sit there and wonder what I would do and where I would be if I had never started, I may not know what could have been, but I do know that I chose a really damn good path. The friends I have encountered throughout my time in skating has been phenomenal and shaped me into who I am. My name is Ivan Narez, and I rollerblade. Yea i’ll admit it, and I’ll be proud as fuck about it. I remember being in high school when rollerblading wasn’t the cool thing to do and I was ashamed that I rollerbladed, I never brought my skates to school and only my close group of friends, none that actually rollerbladed, knew that I did. Now that I’m older I realize that the pressure to fit in a crowd of sheep overpowered my inner passion to be who I really wanted to be. I have got to the point where I’ve broken out of the shell of insecurity and will be the first one to yell fuckyou to anyone who feels otherwise. I write this portion to tell anyone out there who may be in the same situation now that I once was to be strong and hold up. Because being put down for what you love will never takeover the drive to and accomplishment of keeping on, and I say keep on going at it because it was the best damn decision I ever made, it might be yours too. I do what I do because I cant think of anything in the world I would rather be or any other position I would rather be in. Rich, poor, Pro, Am, it doesn’t matter because we are all in this together. I have poured my heart, soul, blood, and tears into this and I wouldn’t regret anything I have ever done because it’s the reason why I am who am I today. I Rollerblade, and I am Connected.
as you may have saw already the splash page contains the newest ad that is scheduled to run in the upcoming release of ONE magazine with broskow on the cover. Congrats to broskow and Valo, It feels like a vogue magazine battle where they have the same star on different magazines to compete which ones better. ONE or Bemag? theyre both doing good things so I am indecisive
